That's right, this was created to counter most of you out there--those who tote their own opinion over all else, without consideration to those little 'fact' things. I dub these people "champions of the masses", and these asshats (as absurd as they tend to be) need to be taken very seriously. Their tenacious cling to logical fallacies, unfounded 'truths', and fabricated nonsense has gone on for way too long, and they're way too dangerous to be ignored. No longer will your continual bullshit go unchecked, let alone be tolerated. Not here. Not anymore.
Our society has a horrible habit of boasting opinion-based-fact, instead of valuing fact-based-opinion, and it's getting out of control. Above I say this blog creation is to counter the champions of the masses, the faceless herd. The other motivation is simply this: I have had, and I will continue to have, to deal with these champions. The conversations I have had and the people I have encountered who refuse to employ logic in their thinking, or refuse to see a logical point of view when it threatens what they tote as "truth" has been frustrating at best. I have burnt a staggering amount of calories on people who call themselves "reasonable", yet they hold onto only their world views, unable to incorporate logical and rational thought. The propensity of our society to be overwhelmingly narrow minded is nauseating, and it needs to be addressed.
That's what I plan to do here: to address daily logical no-no's in a rational, researched fashion. The topics presented here will be either from actual encounters, or just from shit that pisses me off. No topic is off limits, so expect anything from economic misconceptions and religious contradictions to unveiling and analyzing broken systems in America (such as welfare, our legal system, etc.).
As part of the rational few, I value any and all reasonable argument from any of my readers--debate here is welcome, so feel free to comment. Also, if there's a nagging topic you'd like me to research and cover, let me know and I'll be happy to. I encourage you all to take part in a long-needed project that sorts out the fact from the crazy. So world, prepare...

How could you ever suggest that there are problems with the legal system? The legal system is flawless and contains no internal contradictions.
ReplyDeleteSo Mr. Vipenlo, when does preparation end and logicking begin?
ReplyDeleteHi William, I plan to post a new topic monthly, since it takes time to plan out and research these subjects. I travel a lot for work, so my time is somewhat limited. But to answer your question, I'll try to post within the next week or so, and then try to adhere to my monthly goals. Thanks for asking though, and also subscribing!
